Welcome to our class blog!

Wellbeing and Safer Internet Day

Year 5 have spent today doing activities on wellbeing to support Mental health awareness day and celebrate Safer Internet Day.
We wrote our worries down and placed them in a worry bottle, Miss Goodenough then added Diet Coke and mentos to make them explode! We also watched videos about anxiety and feeling worried and looked at who we could talk to if we were worried. These people were written down on an outline of our hands and will go on display. We also talked about our class worry box, KCAR and coping with different feelings,
Safer Internet Day was celebrated by listening to an assembly from the digital leaders and activities in class such as bingo, class question wall, crosswords and finding SID around school! Did you see a poster about SID?
Hope you all have a great half term, enjoy your week off!

Teachers on strike?!

Yesterday Year 5 spent the afternoon teaching Year 1, as they are about to begin their new topic on Space. Year 1 knew lots of facts already and really impressed all of us. The year 5 children did a brilliant job and we definitely have some teachers in the making!

Innovation week

We have spent our last full week of school doing Innovate Week. During this time the teachers don’t teach! Instead we work in groups to show other classes and parents everything we have learnt about our topic. We plan our projects for each lesson of the day, then earn a star if we complete what we set out to do. On the final day, parents and Year 6 children were invited to view our work and we taught them what we had learnt. Some groups focussed on planets, but others looked at the moon landings, space travel or solar eclipses.

We made models, iMovie projects, food, posters, booklets and even performed some drama. We have some photos to share below to show off our amazing work.

Snow fun!

Grasshopper class were excited to play in the snow, following a snow day this week!

Here are some photos of us enjoying our break time fun. We are now counting down to Christmas and hoping for another shower of snow ready on December 25th 🎄
